Neuropathology Core

The Neuropathology Core provides post-mortem evaluation of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, serving as the central brain biorepository for the Houston ADRC. By performing standardized autopsies, delivering definitive diagnoses, and banking high-quality tissue linked to rich clinical, imaging, and biomarker data, the Core enables clinicopathologic correlation, biomarker validation, and mechanistic discovery. Through close integration with other ADRC cores and national data repositories, the Neuropathology Core supports research on disease heterogeneity and sex differences while serving patients, families, and investigators locally and nationally.
