Clinical Core
The Clinical Core of the Houston ADRC is responsible for recruiting and longitudinally following a diverse group of older adults from the greater Houston region to better understand how Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias develop and progress in women and men. Participants receive annual, comprehensive clinical evaluations at the Houston Methodist Nantz National Alzheimer Center, including detailed health, vascular, and social assessments, advanced brain imaging, and collection of biological samples. By ensuring balanced sex representation and strong inclusion of underrepresented communities, the Clinical Core provides the well-characterized clinical foundation that supports biomarker discovery, imaging, and translational research across the Center and the broader ADRC network.
