Imaging, Biomarkers, and Biobanking Integration
What this project does
Ensures systematic collection of biospecimens and neuroimaging data and coordinates their integration across cores.
Why it matters clinically
Combining clinical data with biomarkers and imaging allows biological definition of disease beyond symptoms alone.
Key activities
-Collect annual blood samples from all participants
-Obtain CSF from a subset of participants
-Perform skin biopsies to assess α-synuclein pathology
-Coordinate MRI and tau PET scans at baseline and every two years
-Disclose and discuss clinically relevant results with participants
What will be delivered
-Banked biospecimens linked to clinical and imaging data
-Multimodal datasets supporting biological subtyping of ADRD
Who this helps
-Biomarker and imaging researchers
-Clinicians interested in biologically informed diagnosis
